Private tutor in Bristol, CT
Education
UCONN - Storrs - Bachelors, Animal Science
Experience
I graduated from the University of Connecticut (UCONN) with my bachelor's in agriculture. I began tutoring others when I was in high school, typically helping my friends, younger siblings, and classmates with their homework. I've worked in dairy, counseling, supervising, and other careers. I began substitute teaching when I developed health problems. I spent five years substituting for elementary through high school academics while I earned my certificate at Eastern Connecticut State University. I completed the certificate 25 years ago. I teach primarily in human physiology, environmental science, biology, and general and physical sciences. I can teach students at college and honors levels. I work well with children struggling with behavioral issues and learning disabilities. As a tutor, I firmly believe that anyone can learn. I strive to provide engaging, interesting, and well-presented lessons to optimize student growth. I use a variety of activities and teaching methods, chosen based on the student's learning style. Most of my tutoring sessions are held online or at a public space away from home, like the library. In my free time, I have a lot of hobbies. I love spending time with my dogs. I play the drums. I enjoy drinking different teas and reading.
